Not only is our location primly situated for air, ground, rail and water transportation, we can assist with the logistics to link these modes of transportation together and deliver true, efficient multi-modal transport.

Air Transportation
The Port of Woodland is 30 miles/minutes north of Portland International Airport and 143 miles south of Seattle-Tacoma Airport. The Southwest Washington Regional Airport, 20 miles north of Woodland, will accommodate smaller jet aircraft traffic. Located midway between the Southwest Washington Regional Airport and Portland International, the Woodland State Airport is an excellent example of a community airport.

The Port of Woodland is easily accessible by ground transportation and is strategically located to access major interstate, federal and state highways connecting trucking lines to the continental United States as well as Mexico and Canada.

Water & Barge Transportation
The Port of Woodland offers opportunities as one of the easiest to access international shipping river ports in the United States. Much of the region’s economy depends upon maritime trade and the Columbia River is the United States’ largest wheat export system. Forty percent of all U.S. wheat exports are shipped via lower Columbia River ports. In addition, ocean going vessels transport an average $14 billion worth of cargo each year.

A comprehensive rail network by two Class 1 Rail lines provides service to the Woodland community. The Port complex itself is serviced by the Burlington Northern Santa Fe (BNSF) and Union Pacific (UP) railroads. Woodland’s geographic location offers opportunities to decrease both time and cost for rail freight offering the right combination of excellent connectivity to the BNSF and UP mainline routes, and direct access to major north-south and east-west interstate highways.
